This pond is fed by the Ravensbourne river, which is itself part of the wider river catchment, extending from its source on Keston Common down to the Thames at Deptford Creek.

it has been here for very many years, but was neglected and finally restored in 2022/3. You can read more about this journey here.

However the pond now requires ongoing care and maintenance. This is done by a group of dedicated volunteers, with help in this they have technical support from the river charity Thames21. This group is now officially set up as a River Action Group (RAG), but still under the Friends umbrella. Led by Sarah & Nick, they are organising a series of work sessions during the autumn & winter seasons, but constrained during the spring/summer breeding season.
