There has been a popular playground here for many years but now it badly needs a major upgrade, to meet the needs of local families and children.

We have currently secured £45k of our £100k target. We will continue to secure further funding. However we need to secure funding of £5,000 (five thousand pounds) from the local community. We will be organising various community events as part of this project – both to help raise funds and to keep people informed.
Please donate, whatever amount you can, via our Crowdfunder page at – https://tinyurl.com/5n995mza
A number of local groups have come together to make this project happen. This includes –
- Friends of Bromley Town Parks & Gardens
- Shortlands Residents Association
- With support from local councillors for Shortlands & Park Langley ward (as the site is in this ward)
The aim of this project is to improve the quality of the play environment, and by doing this we would also like to help families tackle the loneliness that children and new parents sometimes experience.
We have consulted widely concerning what families want to see in their new playground. Responses include –
- a picnic area
- new equipment that is accessible to children of all abilities
- natural play features
- colourful playground markings
Some ideas from other playgrounds….
